The New York Times reports that scientists have unlocked the key to harvesting "stem cells" without destroying human embryos. The process utilizes skin cells, which are reprogrammed by introducing four genes to the genetic code of the skin cell, which renders it a blank slate; thereby, a stem cell.

I hope this pleases ignorant Republicans, even though they might argue that human skin objects to being violated by the donation of a few cells.

This method promises to broaden science toward the search for cures of diseases that have plagued humanity since the beginning of time. It is shameful that almost eight years have been lost due to ignorance among people, like George W. Bush, who see the use of human embryos as murder.

Consider the possibilities of cures and treatments that could have been adapted and identified over this course of lost time. It is just too staggering to fathom!
