Tomorrow, Kentucky will elect new leadership. It will remove the shackles which have limited progressive growth of businesses and turned back the clock on many social issues.
Despite Ernie Fletcher's hate for casino gambling and abhorrence of homosexuals, he will not succeed in receiving a second term as governor from the voters of Kentucky. Finally, Frankfort will be purged of the monstrous Mitch McConnell political machine. It will be like the air after a brief, hard summertime thunderstorm; it'll be sweet, calm, and peaceful.
As I write this blog, I am preparing to fly, with other members of my family, to Southeastern Kentucky, where we will campaign in the heavily Republican area for Democrats. Southeastern Kentucky holds a rather special place in our hearts, as it is our home, and the people their have a special place in their hearts, too, for my family. Republicans overwhelmingly voted to send my grandfather, who was a Democrat, to the Governor's Mansion. We hope that they will elect another Democrat to do the same important work my grandfather did.
