The Mooninites are a-comin'!

I am not sure what it is about the Mooninites that create havoc in the hearts of people from Boston, or America in general. I am not sure what would cause a rational person to equate a Lite-Brite toy with a bomb. In my opinion, it all goes back to the fact that people are paranoid. If I were driving along the road and saw one of these "creatures," the last thought to enter my mind would be terrorism. I would probably think to myself, "What on earth is that thing supposed to be?" Then the next thought would be, "They still make those Lite-Brite things?" (Of course, I had one as a small child. I still bear the scars of where some of the "lites" tried to penetrate the soles of my feet. Does that mean I should be able to sue Hasbro for terrorism?)

My final analysis is Americans need to chill out. Something as benign as a character on a Lite-Brite is nothing to get all worked up about. Certainly, it shouldn't have cost millions of dollars to uncover the truth behind them. It goes to show how paranoid we have become as a society. Their next marketing campaign may involve Etch-A-Sketch.

SO BEWARE AMERICA! THEY'RE COMING!

Irony

Today, I was thinking about how many pills I take per day. When I was little, I used to think about the handful of pills my great-grandmother used to take each day. She would pour them into her palm, throw her hand over her mouth, and swallow them in one gulp, without a single drop of water! Now that takes some practice.

I use nine different types of prescription drugs per day, both pills and creams. They treat everything from high blood pressure, to anxiety, to the control of acne and rosacea (how else do I still look 16?).

I often wonder when I became my grandmother. The only thing is, she was in her nineties and I am in my twenties! At least, I don't keep my pill bottles in a Zip Lock bag!
