Are you a murderer?
New York state authorities are searching for those people who are responsible for the trampling death of a Wal-Mart employee yesterday. Yes, you attempted to save money, but someone did not live better for it.
I hope the insatiable desire for discounted Christmas goodies was worth it!
In related news, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. executives in Bentonville, Arkansas, are not admitting that the employee was killed in their store. Instead, Wal-Mart's high-priced attorneys are attempting to put a dollar figure on the tragedy in the form of a settlement with his family before its public relations staff go public with the news. However, rumors are rampant in the smoke-filled boardroom that someone did die yesterday in the proximity of a Wal-Mart property.

Murder at Wal-Mart
A Valley Stream, New York, Wal-Mart was the location of a murder today.
Unruly shoppers decided to break down the door of their neighborhood Wal-Mart, which subsequently led to the trampling death of a store employee. I would have held everyone there until the police arrived and then played the surveillance tape. (God knows Wal-Mart has a camera every five paces.) Those who pushed down the door would be charged with involuntary manslaughter of this individual. Of course, we cannot forget the charges of breaking-and-entering, inciting a mob, and disorderly conduct.
Trying to save a few bucks on a Barbie doll is hardly worth a human being's life! Let's get real for once.

Sarah Palin Gets Bloody
After pardoning one turkey, she takes questions using a bloody slaughter trough as her background. Of course, the executioner did not wait until her interview was over before he continued his work of slitting turkeys' throats (or whatever Medieval method he was utilizing).
I personally think it would have been appropriate to ask to change the background during the interview process. She glanced over her shoulder once to see what the clamour was about behind her. Governor Palin prophesied she would be criticized for what happened at the turkey farm that day during that interview too. How ironic. She was correct!

Hillary Clinton
Will she or won't she accept the appointment as Secretary of State in Barack Obama's administration?
She and President Clinton have been clearing a path that seems to be leading toward that destination, but there is now talk the Senate leadership is preparing to give her a special leadership position.
After Thanksgiving, perhaps, we'll know her decision.

Rome did fall. Will we?
Like ancient Rome, the United States is becoming bloated by heavy, bad debt. Also, there may be "barbarians" tearing down our borders and attempting to sabotage our infrastructure for their own gain. The morale of the story is Rome wasn't built in a day, but it didn't take long for it to implode under its own weight.
In America, the government is being asked to take on a heavy financial responsibility, which is to bail everyone out! The banks were first with their $700 billion bailout plan, because they took a gamble with subprime mortgages and that backfired; homeowners want some money, too, to fend off the banks; major cities think they deserve $50 billion to cover expenses associated with the economic downturn; now General Motors (GM) wants to put its hands into the honey pot so it can keep making gas-guzzling Suburbans and Tahoes. Then, of course, the cycle starts all over again with consumers going into heavy debt for things they really don't need anyhow.
Let's face it, the United States tax payer (i.e., me) cannot take care of everyone's financial mistakes. In that case, I will need some money to bail myself out of the situation created by the government's numerous bailout plans, but I will completely expect the government to cover it. (That's a paradox.)
If I go to the bank and borrow $1,000 I will be expected to pay that principle back to the bank with compounded interest. In other words, they'll put me on a monthly payment plan over a 12 month period (it's just $1,000 after all). Does the U.S. Treasury put the banks on a payment plan when they receive their bailout money? Money is not free! Think about it.

Iraq setting the deadline for troop withdrawal
Iraq's cabinet decided it would be okay to allow US forces to stay in their country until 2011.
That's convenient. It doesn't cost them a dime, but they are happy to spend my tax money on their civil war.
If Barack Obama does not keep his promise to begin pulling out American troops in the first 100 days of his presidency then it will be a fatal mistake for his career as president. American voters based large parts of their votes on Obama's promises of bringing our troops out of Iraq and rebuilding the economy.

I think Hillary Clinton will take the position as America's top diplomat, secretary of state. There seems to be a lot of buzz around a meeting she had with Obama regarding the matter.

Obama to reverse Bush's Medieval Decisions?
Barack Obama, who was recently elected the 44th president of the United States, has been reviewing some of George W. Bush's more asinine decisions over the past eight years.
Stem cell research may be allowed to continue forward after being practically dormant for almost a decade. I don't get the debate against stem cells. They are not babies. They are cells! It is like losing a hair. Are the cells in the follicle of my hair alive and deserving of protection from the government once it falls out?
Of course not.
That same argument can be made for stem cell research. Those cells cannot survive away from its host (i.e., a uterus). I hope that America finally wakes up and gets real. We have been waiting since 2000 to enter the 21st century. I believe we can!

Tomorrow
Tomorrow is the final nail in a process that started almost two years ago!
I am happy that we have an electoral process in our country, but that is a ridiculous. I believe that we are in for some big changes tomorrow night. I see Barack Obama winning the necessary 270 electoral votes in the Electoral College.
As for Kentucky's senatorial race, I'm not so sure. I think Bruce Lunsford and Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) are neck-to-neck in most state polls. McConnell did beat two-term incumbent Walter "Dee" Huddleston (D-KY) in 1984 by 0.4%. Most people did not see that coming. That is why I am hoping McConnell is in for a rude awaking 24-years later.
