Police have re-arrested the three individuals who were originally held on suspicion of her murder, but they were subsequently released. Of course, we have little knowledge of the evidence that is being presented to the judge in Aruba regarding this seeming cold case.
In an American court, the following evidence is true for any good defense attorney worth his $600/hour fee:
- Natalie Holloway simply abandoned her life. She used her senior trip as a springboard into a new life. Perhaps, she now lives in Venezuela or Brazil. After all, there is no body to prove she is even dead. Furthermore, there is no physical evidence to support foul play on the part of the defendants which links them to the act that led to her alleged death.
But why?
- Perhaps, there was sexual and mental abuse in Natalie's home in Alabama. She feared for her own safety, and in a last ditch effort she abandoned her home.
Even though, Aruba is a Dutch protectorate and litigates under Dutch laws, there is little reason to believe that such a defense would not work there as well.
