My Stocks!

Holy fuck! I see why people were jumping out of windows in 1929! I've lost so much damn money. I don't know how much longer I can hold on at the current rate the market is barreling toward its crash.

Thanks House of Representatives for screwing America! I've decided to gamble and hold on to my investments to the bitter end, in hopes the government does something quickly to curtail this looming crash. The result is either I'll get rich from my feeling or I'll lose almost all of my public investment portfolio. There's a lot of money involved either way.

Buffet on the economy

Billionaire Warren Buffet says the United States is in for a historic economic meltdown if Congress does not act quickly to bolster Wall Street.

I think he should know what he is talking about!

Paul Newman

I suppose I am out of touch with ancient cinema. I always thought Paul Newman was a brand of disgusting salad dressing.

My first instinct upon hearing the death of Paul Newman was, "Will they pull that crappy Newman dressing from the supermarket shelves?"

So what?

A friend asked me if I felt like I was being taken advantage of by the guys I am in "relationships" with. My answer was, "No way!"

Yes, I buy lots of boys nice things. But I do it because it makes them happy, and me happy, too. If I have the money to do it, then why is it such a bad thing for others to accept? I don't see it as being a schmuck.

If I want to buy a nice young, attractive guy something, say a Rolex watch, then there is nothing wrong with it. It's my damn money! So mind your own effin business!

McCain, Obama: The First Debate

The first presidential debate of the 2008 season got off to a rocky start last night, considering many didn't know if Senator John McCain was going to be able to make it.

After McCain's political stunt to look super-presidential back-fired in his face, he decided that he should probably participate in the debate, which was held in Oxford, Mississippi. I'm not sure it was to Obama's credit, however.

John McCain, who is seemingly three days older than God, made Barack Obama look more than a little green, when it came to such things as foreign policy. Senator McCain dropped world leaders' names left and right, including his impressive collection of passport stamps, leaving Senator Obama appearing as if he is an amateur on foreign affairs.

I wonder which Democrat could have made McCain's resume seem a little less daunting? I can't think of anyone, can you? (Hint: Hillary Clinton.)

I'm afraid the Democratic contender for the White House, Barack Obama, who seems strong on domestic issues, comes up short on international affairs. That is something Senator Hillary Clinton had in abundance. (Yes, I am crying over spilled milk!)

Breast Milk in Ice Cream: WTF!

I read a very disturbing and stomach turning report on Yahoo! news. PETA sent a letter to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream hoping to get them to stop their their use of cow milk. The animal protection organization stated that they could substitute human milk in their dairy products!

The purpose of their letter was to alleviate the conditions that dairy cows must endure, in order to produce the quantities of milk necessary for America's milk-related needs.

Ben & Jerry's issued a reply to PETA which stated, in part, they believe human milk is best reserved for nursing human babies. I agree wholly! (Honestly, I can't believe they would send such a letter with sincerity. It sounds almost like a bad joke.)

Here it comes...

Yesterday, I said some kind words about George W. Bush's proposal to stabilize the banking industry (ergo, the economy) by infusing it with approximately $700 billion.

Now here comes the shit:

Bush's secretary of treasury stated today that the same money should be used to bail out foreign banks that do a large portion of their business in the United States.

How about NO?!

American taxpayers are making a large investment to bail out American companies for being stupid. Sure, these banks may do business in the United States, but it is not our concern to prop them up. Let their own government prop them up. I don't recall any other governments offering to help with our economic crisis by offering to infuse billions of dollars into American banks, which do business in their countries, also.

Leave it to the Bush administration to turn a good idea into a bad one.

Whatever happened to Dick Cheney?

It would seem that someone remembers the infamous Vice President of the United States.

A federal judge has ordered the vice president to preserve a far-spanning range of documents since 2001. I guess George W. Bush has been too busy working out this Wall Street crisis to help his minion.

George W. Bush finally gets it right

After almost eight years of continuous political blunders and nightmares, George W. Bush finally did something worth praising.

He has proposed a $700 billion domestic package to help the ailing economy. Wow! I was singularly impressed when I heard the news.

I just wonder why it took him almost 8 years of his presidency to do something for the good of the country?

SNL: Clinton & Palin

I really enjoyed the Saturday Night Live skit of Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin. When I first saw it Saturday night (duh), I thought it really was Sarah Palin playing a cameo part. But it turns out that it was Tina Fey, who looks strikingly similar to the Alaska governor. She even plays up her Minnesota-like accent.

"Hillary" stated that she should "have wanted it more," while talking about the presidency. Of course, fewer people could have wanted it more than her.

Clinton & Palin

Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) says that Barack Obama made a mistake when he did not make Hillary Clinton his running mate for the general election.

Yes, I agree with her fully. Hillary would have been a much more suitable candidate for that position than Joe Biden (D-DE).

Biden Agrees on Clinton

Senator Joe Biden (D-DE), who is the Democratic vice presidential candidate, said today that he believes Hillary Clinton (D-NY) is more qualified for the job of president than he is, which he logically deduced means she is greatly more qualified for the job of vice president.

Bigfoot Spotted

I found Bigfoot camping in the woods behind my house! Can I be on CNN now, too?

Someone has claimed to have found a fossilized Bigfoot footprint. It would seem that an amateur archaeologist in Tennessee found the mysterious item on his property.

He claims the imprint is 15-inches long and 11-inches across. That certainly does sound large. In the picture provided by the individual, you can clearly see what appears to be an imprint of a large foot, which includes toes.

This is on the tail end of another story regarding two men who claimed to have found an intact specimen of Bigfoot in the hills of Georgia. That account, though, turned out to be exaggerated and completely false. It was just some guys trying to have some "fun."

Which is why I think this guy with the footprint is trying to have a little "fun" as well.

When the CNN trucks show up at my house, I'll be sure to show them the Bigfoot "nest" that is next to the backyard.

Joe Lieberman: Get over it!

Why doesn't Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) become a Republican already?

He left the Democratic Party, in 2006, when he lost the Democratic Party primary to be re-elected to the United States Senate. He changed his voter registration to Independent; however, he still caucuses with Democrats, but he hangs out with conservative Republicans, like John McCain.

It's simple really why he became an Independent instead of a Republican. The voters of Connecticut would never elect a Republican to the United States Senate. But I think in the 2012 election cycle, the Connecticut voters will see through Lieberman's wolf's clothes and elect a "real" Democrat to represent them!

Can a black father of 2 really be president?

CNN has an "iReport" question currently on its website that asks, "Can a mom of 5 really be VP?"

I find that repulsive, even if she is a Republican!

This is the same kind of demoralizing comments that brought down Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary season. Now, suddenly Republicans are upset that Barack Obama's campaign--and the media--has brought out the sexist ammunition in the general election, too, against John McCain's running mate, Governor Sarah Palin. (She is being punished for being a mother, too!)

I believe a woman, man, gay, straight, transsexual, white or black can be vice president, and even president of the United States, if they are qualified for the position. It is stupid, and a sign of our times, that such comments can be blatantly made by the media. If they asked the question, which is the title of this post, "Can a black father of 2 really be president?," then the entire nation would be in an uproar over racist sentiments in the media. Of course, there'd be Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to defend Obama (or any minority candidate).

Perhaps, one day, we can live in a country where everyone is truly valued for his/her experience...despite what is in his/her pants!

"Skyline" Chili

I am a person who loves his chili, but I have to say that after trying the famous--now infamous--Skyline chili brand, I am greatly disappointed. This chili had been played up to me like it was the best stuff since who knows what. So I finally get a mouthful of it.

Gag me with a spork!

This stuff tastes like overly spiced potted meat! (Yeah, I've put it in my mouth.) Also, I've experienced explosive diarrhea with better consistency than this stuff, which consequently is probably what I'll end up with after eating it.

Yuck!

Barack Obama: "Off limits!"

Speaking of his own child bride mother, Barack Obama said the children of candidates, and especially the children of children of candidates, are off limits to political attacks. Of course, he was referring to the glowing 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice president candidate, Governor Sarah Palin (AK), who is expecting her own baby out of wedlock.

Obama stated his own mother was 18 when she had him. I guess that sets a new level of acceptable motherhood for America's daughters, since his mother did it.

John McCain is trying to figure out when he knew about this. He has to ask his aides, of course, since he has no independent recollection of having been told about the pregnancy of his running mate's daughter.
Obama-Palin '08

(This blog was written while I was a little smashed on vodka...so I am not really responsible for its content, now am I?)

Teen Pregnancy & DWI

John McCain's vice presidential candidate, Governor Sarah Palin, comes from a rather sordid family, by Republican terms. It turns out her 17-year-old princess is five months pregnant and her husband has a DWI wrap.

How/will will this impact how conservative Republicans' view the McCain-Palin ticket? I just realized that George W. Bush's alcoholic run-ins with the law made him a hero.

Oh well...
