After two weeks (or so) of bruising my stock portfolio is beginning to feel the punches in a most profound way. Some of my stocks have lost as much as 10% of their value in just a few short days. MasterCard lost as much as 15% of its value in three days on the report that credit card companies were writing off losses following the housing market crash.
Today, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress that the United States' economy must be stimulated immediately or feel the effects of this recent mini-economic meltdown's ripples become more profound and longer lasting.
