Again, people are simply flocking to Barack Obama because he is the fresh face. His win in Iowa has garnered him some new support in New Hampshire. (This is why I once called for all primaries and caucuses to be held on the same day, just like the general election. It keeps other states from feeling as if they must follow the leader.)
A new poll released this evening in New Hampshire now shows Clinton and Obama running neck and neck. I realize this hardly puts her out of the race, but it does show that the fiercely independent people of the Granite State are following their leader, which in this case happens to be Iowa.
The bottom line is simple--and terrifying. If Democrats elect Barack Obama then they will turn over the presidency once again to a Republican. In a general election, where Republicans and Democrats have an equal voice, he is not going to win. Republicans are sharpening their claws and sabers just hoping they get to pick Barack Obama apart this summer.
Democrats must elect a leader who can stand up to Republicans when the honeymoon is over!
