Bill Clinton fielded a question about how he perceived the "free pass" the media is giving Barack Obama in regards to his record on such things as the war in Iraq. The truth is that Obama stated that he was behind George W. Bush in 2004, but now he says he is against the war. He says he never supported the war in Iraq, but in the United States Senate he voted to fund it with $300 billion! The point is you can't talk through one side of your mouth while talking from the other side too. Yes, occasionally, the right hand does find out what the left hand has been up to.
Since Obama's win in Iowa, the media has made him out to be their darling. They even compare him to John F. Kennedy, because of his charisma and vision. Anyone can have a proactive vision about how things should be in America. I can sit down and make a list of positive things I want to implement in our country, but it takes know-how and determination to wheel-and-deal in order to make those things possible. Obama's vision is nothing without that insight and talent. Obama is not going to roll into the White House in 2009 with a blank check from the Republicans to do whatever he desires. His charm will do little to save us from terrorism. It will take realism with bite to save our country from its current path of peril.
Even though she may not have the razzle-dazzle of Obama, I am still standing behind Hillary Clinton for president, because she has the experience to make her vision of change a reality for our country.
