The Ludicrous

So, a guy goes to Europe for his very own big fat wedding in Greece. All the while, he is infected with a rare type of tuberculosis.

Now, the tragedy is he may, or may not, have been warned not to travel. He says it was simply recommended, not enforced. I dare say I have to agree with the man's assessment. If it was a communicable disease that could become a pandemic, then he should have been hospitalized in an isolated ward, not sent home and told not to expose people.

The media is really torn up about the possibility of hundreds of people potentially being exposed to this mutated form of TB, which is apparently resistant to conventional forms of treatment, right?

Wrong!

The media is more concerned with whether or not the man's wedding is legal. Some news reporter has went off the beaten path and drummed up suspicion that the wedding was not a legal civil ceremony. They even have some Greek mayor saying as much. This is what the media outlets are covering. It's not the mutant, scary TB virus that is lingering inside of innocent people's lungs. It's more important that we get to the bottom of this whole marriage scandal.

Andrew Speaker and Sarah Cooksey, by God, if you are going to place an announcement in a Fulton County, Georgia, newspaper telling everyone about your European wedding, then you better make sure it is legitimate and you're not just pulling our collective chain with some make-shift, home-made garbage of a sham wedding!

Geesh!

I could care less if I sat by you on the plane ride to or from Greece. That is simply immaterial. An adaptive, therapy-resistant, lung destroying strand of tuberculosis is secondary to my concerns for the legality of your wedding!

Let's get real people. Keep your eye on the ball! It's left the court already.
