Higher Taxes

A Republican member of Congress, Don Young (AK), stated that it might be necessary to increase the taxes on gasoline, in order to pay for the update of long neglected bridges across the United States.

Since the collapse of the bridge in Minneapolis, last week, it would seem there about 500 other comparable bridges, around the country, which fall into a similar category as this bridge.

Why should we have to pay more taxes on something that is already outrageous? Perhaps, Congress should find the money to pay for these kinds of repairs--from existing funds--without requiring Americans to pay more in taxes, as a result. Congress sure finds the money to pay for Bush's private war, when he demands it. Instead, Congress should divert funds, by downsizing armed forces abroad.

It makes sense.
