After more than two weeks of searching, hoping and wishing, the executives at the Crandall Canyon Mine, in Huntington, Utah, is about ready to call the whole thing off.
After boring a fifth hole into the ceiling of the mine, they were unable to raise any hopes that the miners might still be alive.
The mine will bore a sixth hole, at a different location. If there are no signs of life present at this hole sight, then the mine will be closed as a memorial--albeit, tomb--to the six coal miners who are missing, and seemingly presumed dead, according to Bob Murray, who is the CEO of Murray Energy Corp, which owns the mine.
Although, many family members, at the site, seem to be holding on to false hope, there doesn't appear to be any thing to substantiate a continued, prolonged search for the miners.
