David Axelrod, who is a high priced political advisor to the Barack Obama presidential campaign, made a rather ludicrous statement in the aftermath of Benazir Bhutto's assassination, which took place in Pakistan today.
Axelrod stated that the death of former Prime Minister Bhutto could be traced to Hillary Clinton! Basically, he was trying to pin the failed Bush policies on Senator Clinton, instead of President Bush. It is more accurate to blame her death on the Pakistani establishment, which did little to provide her with adequate security, or root out domestic terrorist elements.
At any rate, it is a bit premature to speculate as to who is behind the assassination of Bhutto, however, it is dead wrong to say it is directly linked somehow to Hillary Clinton. If that is the kind of foreign policy experience Senator Obama has to bring to America, then he is sorely confused about the direction we want to go in a post-Bush America. It's time to stop pointing fingers at people and diverting blame to someone else out of political expediency.
In 2009, after eight years of George W. Bush, the time we spent living with Republican blame and diversion tactics will have been more than enough!
