I read a very disturbing and stomach turning report on Yahoo! news. PETA sent a letter to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream hoping to get them to stop their their use of cow milk. The animal protection organization stated that they could substitute human milk in their dairy products!
The purpose of their letter was to alleviate the conditions that dairy cows must endure, in order to produce the quantities of milk necessary for America's milk-related needs.
Ben & Jerry's issued a reply to PETA which stated, in part, they believe human milk is best reserved for nursing human babies. I agree wholly! (Honestly, I can't believe they would send such a letter with sincerity. It sounds almost like a bad joke.)
