After a relatively unproductive meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, George W. Bush says good-bye to Russia for the last time as president.
The presidents were unable to come to a consensus about the United States implementation of a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe. Russia remains adamantly opposed to the idea. I suppose the meeting was more ceremonial, since they are both leaving their positions of power in the coming months. Thankfully, Bush only has a little over nine months left in his final term. I am hopeful, but not convinced, he can complete that time without getting the United States into anymore trouble!
