Today, it would seem that United States effort to get aid into the Asian nation of Myanmar (Burma), after being tragically ravaged by a hurricane on Friday, is in the hands of First Lady Laura Bush.
This is the largest role I have ever seen her take, especially on the foreign affairs stage. It almost makes me think she is mapping her own political future after hubby, George W. Bush, leaves office in January.
Could she be a senator from Texas? A member of the House of Representatives, perhaps? It just seems an odd time for her to step out of her relative obscurity.
