iPhone 5

It's not quite Hurricane Sandy material, but I had a little drama with my iPhone friend(s).

Last Christmas, I bought myself (because I give the best presents) an iPhone 4s. On a recent road trip, I dropped it onto the blacktop of a convenient store parking lot. The screen went crack and it was quite unattractive. So, I call up my Verizon rep, and she talks me into upgrading to the new iPhone 5. Let's face it, the insurance plan you buy is worthless. They tried to get me to pay a $169 deductible, or pay $199 for a brand new phone. Hmmm...let me think.

Well, you get the picture of what happened. I had to wait, though, to get the sucker delivered to me. I guess those workers in China are slow. Yesterday it shows up, and I have to program this thing. It wasn't as easy as the iPhone 4s. There was a lot of talk of SIM cards, then the phone talked about SIM failure and an invalid SIM. I stressed about it all night long.

Today, I started driving toward the big city, because I'm sort of out in the boonies. It turns out that it just needed a better connection to Verizon's network. It started working...abracadabra!

The iPhone 5 is cuter, lighter, and a bit more friendly toward my large hands. Other than that, it is pretty much identical to the iPhone 4s. I'm sure there are some techies out there who would argue that point with me, but for a run of the mill operator, it's the same!

But, look on the bright side, no more cracks to look through to see my stuff! (:
