Senator John Edwards has admitted to an extra-marital affair with a woman, Reille Hunter, while on the campaign trail. In addition to this bit of news, the National Enquirer, which originally published the story, also unearthed Edwards' mistress is the proud mother of a five months old baby girl, which begs the question, "Is John Edwards the girl's father?"
Senator Edwards, the former senator from North Carolina and vice presidential candidate, denies he is the father of the child. Hunter has stated she will not seek a paternity test for her daughter.
What does it all mean then? If Edwards is the father, he has the financial means to pay this woman off and hopefully deflect some media attention. I am sure for a million dollars, Ms. Hunter could be persuaded to keep her mouth shut. That money would buy a whole lot of Huggies.
